I need help im trying to figure out which cable is the correct one and best one so i can flash my dpc2100r2 cable modem and connect to my computer

i already solder 8 pin header to the cable modem

please post links or pics thank you

would also like to know which programs i can use with certain cables
the 8 pin header(j221) is jtag and can be programmed by toms or any jtag software, the undersized 4 pin header(con2) is serial ttl for use with putty or any other telnet program

can u send me some links off ebay so i can buy cables right now thank you in advance
ttl cable link http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trkparms...p=15&_sc=1
jtag make your own (skip the resistors just keep cable short under 6")

so lets say i bought a modem off ebay the webby stock firmware i have to make a jtag cable since i cant telnet because its never been flashed ?

after i flash can i use putty on this modem ?

last question how do i connect the ttl cable to the modem ?
if it's an old webby try the 1 click installer, if that fails you can use a ttl cable(con2) and use the p option in the bootloader to install, jtag if it's what you have

which program is the 1 click installer how does that one work

i also heard i can install through ethernet

how can i install through ethernet
the 1 click installer is just a bat script of local snmp commands that installs haxorware via ethernet http://www.haxorware.com/forums/attachment.php?aid=166
Im trying to do the one click installer with the batch file

it says press any key to continue after that

all i keep getting is timeout no response from 192.168.100.1

have you set a static ip and unplugged the coax
