(USB to RS232 TTL PL2303HX Chip Converter Module Converter Adapter 5V 3.3V Output
this
thank you man and is there a program for this???
what do you mean a program? it's a max232 cable you use it with a terminal program like hyperterm, telnet or putty
like an .exe , so i cant program with it for modems??
but it connects to usb..
when your using one of those on modems it's for connecting to the internal serial port
it allows access to the bootloader, and lets you play with the telnet while the modem is booting without waiting for the computer the get an Ethernet address from the modems internal dhcp server
it's a necessary tool that every tester should have

Remove power from the modem,Connect your adapter to the modem header and the PC. This guide assumes you're using COM1.(look in device manager for the correct port)

Open Putty.
Connection type: Serial
Serial line: COM1
Speed: 115200
Close window on exit: Never

Click 'open', then plug the power into the modem.
You should see the boot process and connection attempt appear. (notice the difference between serial and telnet outputs)
