Ok so i just got Time Warner cable and I tried to use my moded modem.

However did any of you noticed the new time warner config file names?

Is this happening to all the cable companies.

Mine is

DHCP: ACK: Setting (*) CM TFTP Boot file:

?BEEYDgYAFZrnoBoKB6_5@Cgev+WQvO0eKkEWRetkmqd5TERRyRHmv

So after reading a bit i realized that we can no longer just change the config file name as the provider forces the file onto our system.

So with that said, there is really no way to actually uncap the modems anymore. Is this correct.

i even looked at DHCP Force, but i cant seem to figure out how to download the config file with it.

Is there a way to decode the file names yet? or view them?
forcing is dead
Not dead yet Big Grin but will be soon. Plus Time Warner has had dynamic configs for a long while now.
You can at least view and edit them with this, but i dunno to what extent yet.
Thats a dynamic config/Binary file
You just have to find a way to get the provider to "force" a better config to you.

How do you force dynamic config?
