buy one of those and cut the end off. easy hookup for a serial connection. $4.44 almost free! Your best bet, though, imho is to get a 5101 as they are the easiest to start off with. you do not need to solder anything if you have the pogo pins...

what are pogo pins?

Unfortunately SBH is down for a bit but you can google it. Nokia ca42 serial search will get you all the pinouts/diagrams you need. do the same google search for the modem and you just need to put tx to rx and vice versa the cable tx must go to the cm rx so it can communicate properly.

serial flashing is very fast once you get tftp32 set up correctly and you make sure the firewall is not blocking it.

ok, that sounds and looks very helpful. I'm having a problem though, i just got the Sb5101 and i have the 10 pin solderless and usb jtag connected to it. I have it plug into the 10pin slot, the jtag, and its connected to the computer. I'm no expert but i believe the light on the jtag is suppose to go from red to blue once it starts to communicate with the modem... right? I have Schwarzekat that im trying to run it from if that helps. Thanx
Schwarzecat - pjtag

Tom's Utility - pjtag

Blackcat software - Blackcat Usb

Use this firm on your BCusb. Schwarz... will not work with it.
