You need to disassemble the firmware (unsquashing) and then edit the file forceware.version, or maybe there's a simpler method that I'm not aware of.

Alpha 3.0 Firmware is like sb61xx stock Firmware with ssh access.

Why will you lose time developing a UI if there's already one everybody uses.
