i think i accidently broke my max232 board and was wondering whether this would do the job

as i really don't want to shell out another tenner. Also does anyone know any good mac trading sites as wizardmods charge and i don't really know how to obtain macs to trade.

yes that would work (tho to be honest you can buy a nokia dku-5 cable for same price, conversion to max cable is easy plus its usb)

try underground modems or bashys place (no idea if they are open or not)

usb leads or usb converters can be a bit flakey for some people, i would use the com port if you have one on your pc/laptop

ive not had a single problem with my usb serial converter, but i have seen a lot of posts around where people have diffculty, i guess its because the usb have to use drivers.
