At the top of that post in the link you posted Drew mate it did say start at 9600 baud rate and thats what i used,
but once i got that garbage stuff i tried this way which was posted further down the page on the same link you posted matey

but like i said i had it on 9600 still by trying the top method 1st & forgot to change to 115200
I'm going to try that tomorrow and let you know how i got on bud
