DPC2100R2 - kieth829 - 19-11-2011

I have try to flash my friend's Dpc2100 by max232. but in the hyperterminal I saw the prompt "p", and then I enter "p", but the menu not show up. By the way, on the max232 module, only the RXD light and PWR light would blink, nothing going with the TXD light. Does mean I mess up with wiring? But there are only 16 ways of wiring. All I had tried were not working at all. Can someone figure it out?

what module are you using, also try using a different program (if using hyperterm use putty or other way round)

Yes, Thanks a lot! Putty works. By the way, can I backup the original flash or nonvol by max232?

RE: DPC2100R2 - drewmerc - 20-11-2011

1. you can try with softjtag but the program is buggy as hell and could cause more problems than it can solve
2. you could try running haxor from ram (never tryed it, maybe i should) then use haxor to do a 2mb dump
3. install haxor to image1 (not a 2mb sector0 install) then use haxor to make a 2mb dump (if i have to do it i do this but then i know how to restore it to default)

RE: DPC2100R2 - kieth829 - 20-11-2011

Softjtag always said time out.....I will wanna try method 3. If i intall haxor to image1, it wont affect the cfg section, Right? Cuz its a well running modem with good nonvol, I dont want to destroy it.

RE: DPC2100R2 - drewmerc - 20-11-2011

3. wont touch the nonvol (not a 2mb image, i keep writing this cause many an idiot have gone and flashed a 2mb dump at this point and fucked every thing up)
