How can I tell what Type of Security I have running - geoneo111 - 23-10-2012

Hi,

I have a subscribed cable modem and testers as well. Is there a way to see what type of security (BPI 1.0,1.1 ect. ) is being used for my ISP? I figure it's easier than shooting in the dark trying all types of settings.

best bet is to try bpi+bypass first if it dont work change cpe mac then try
bpi+

if bypass works there is still docsis 1.0 in the area because both can be used at the same time but most people cant use that setting as a majority of isps are now full d3 or close or you could use a dhcp sniffer and view configs to see what modems are still in the area
here we have to do what you said you dont want to do we all shoot in the dark alot until we find things that work
