Problem Flashing Sigma X2 on SB5100 - geoneo111 - 02-07-2013

Hi guys,

I obtained a virgin bin and flashed it to my SB5100. It worked fine. I next flashed Sigma X2 142 by fersca but I lost the lights on my modem. I couldn't get to the sigma page either. I flashed Sigma stealth version on top of it (Without flashing to virgin again) and it worked. I don't want the stealth version but 142 by Fersca. Does anyone know why that happened?

Thanks Sixteen for your response.

It's not bricked after I put in the sigma stealth. That is what is weird about it. What are the steps again to flash SB5100mod? I think there is a loader you have to use first. I also saw a script that does it for you.

lots of missing info like are you flashing 2mb dumps or images+ nonvols
if it's a 2mb dump split it into parts and have a look at the hex to see if anything look obviously wrong

Thanks DrewMerc,

I'm flashing a 2MB dump. Its good when I flash it. I hook it up to the coaxial and get a TWC activation page. It's only when i flash the sigma X2 that I get no lights. When I flash again using the stealth version it works. Strange.

I don't know how to split it. Even if I did I wouldn't know what I would be looking for. Attached is the bin I used. It was labeled SB5100 Virgen MX29LV161B

Also, I flashed the sigma X2 142 as I would a haxoware bin. I see that there was a loader file beside the regular file. Should I have used that? I never had before.

only thing of note i see in the posted dump is image0 and image1 are different (which is strange)

DrewMerc,

Wow, Thanks for looking at it AND showing me. I see now. I guess I'll try a different 2MB dump. I just grabbed some from this site. 5100 Full Bios Flashes.zip. Does it matter which one I use?

O.k. I'll keep trying.
Do you have a link for USB Jtag SB510X?
