5101/6220 flashing help.
So I've had premod my whole life but I really want to be apart of testing (my favorite part). So I bought a usb blackcat and a 3M SOIC BLACKCAT USB SPI 16WAY TEST CLIP ISP SB6120 - eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

But I have no idea on how to connect the blackcat. The software says: Not Connected. Here's how it's connected right now:

Am I doing it right? If not, please help me. I'll use this same thread when the time comes to flash my 6220. I've found some threads showing you how to flash the 6220 though, but can't find one with the connections for the 5101.

Edit: I also have the soic test clip if that's needed.

RE: 5101/6220 flashing help.
just looking at the pictures i can tell the blackcat is not in jtag mode, so you need to flash the blackcat itself

so you need to flip the dip switches plug it in and press the reset button

then program the ejtag hex

anybody feeling generous and want to buy me a phone?
i know nobody has bought me one for christmas

reduced to begging but damn i want an android phone
testing is hard if your not thinking "outside" the box.

Not sure if I'm doing it right but I did it and got the same problem. Not detecting at all. When you hit the reset, are you suppose to hear a noise? Because behind the blackcat has something that says RST and when I hit that, all i hear is a noise from my computer (like when you plug a device in).

start the blackcat software before pressing the reset button it should tell you what mode it's in (jtag, spi, nand or dfu)

WELL it didn't said anything, but not detected.

I went into device manager and the following driver is missing:
ATmega32U2 DFU

so i guess dfu mode?

My cd doesn't have 'blackcatusb2'. It has the following and none would work:

Avrfirmware
blackcatusb.old
bootloaders
driver
driver (2k xp vista win7)
flash
libusb (install first) already did

and more

I'm trying it on my 5101 the whole time and I already instaled libusb.
