sb5100mod certificates problem
hi, i am on tw and since a few months ago have lost access to the net.

I search for working macs using dhcpforce and find them but the modem goes off shortly after I use these codes and no longer works on it again once this happens.

I have a feeling that I may need to inject certificates into the sb5100mod.

only trouble is i cannot obtain them with fastcert or macollector on a friends subbed netgear modem hub or the sb5100mod in factory mod when it is online.

i have a parallel blackcat without ic and have also heard that it is possible to extract the certificates from 2mb dumps etc but need to know which ones and where to find/how to inject them using the parallel cable

can anyone help please? Am i missing something obvious?

RE: sb5100mod certificates problem
as you have a sb5100 you'll need to get them from a subbed sb5100, just dump said modem extract the nonvol and inject into your modem

(and do you know you have the most spammy name it's lucky i saw your post before i went thru the new registrations because i probably auto banned a name like that)

anybody feeling generous and want to buy me a phone?
i know nobody has bought me one for christmas

reduced to begging but damn i want an android phone

hi drewmerc, sorry about the name, you can change it if you like - maybe tidychopz?

thanks for the info though. however, is there another way though? i ask because 1) i do not know anybody else who has still got a subbed sb5100 and 2) even if I found someone I would not like to mess around with their modem unless there is a simple way of doing this without opening it? ipfull can do it? what about on the netgear vmdg280 modem hub?(these are the only ones now being issued by my cc) - will buzzcert convert those into something useable on the sb5100?can i get certificates via any other method? are there any generic ones? also, although i know what you are refering to when you say non-vol, I do not know of the exact procedures for extracting this or inserting into the modem? do i use blackcat, sbtools or ip full? if i find a sb5100 which has recently been disconnected would this have the certs in the dump? sorry for all the questions! any and all help appreciated!

RE: sb5100mod certificates problem
dont worry about your name i've seen it now, the complaint is more at myself than at you, i really should not ban people without checking they are not bots but i'm a lazy ass and i do (in my own defence i don't believe i have banned anybody that i mistakenly thought was a bot yet)

anyways, your biggest problem is that you have a 5100 and 5101 and netgear certs will not work due to size differences (but 5100/netgear ones will work on a 5101)(ok there is a telnet method of getting 5101 certs to work on a 5100 but i have not used a 5100 in years so i can't comment)
ip full can pull certs from a 5100 without opening it (but then that assumes you can get access to one)
i guess your best method to get certs would be to trade (but knowing who to trust in this day and age is very hard) or jtag (just do a full dump of a modem and dont think about extracting the nonvol, theres a gif showing the steps in another thread)
and finally recently been disconnected lol no the modem must be subbed (as soon as it stops being subbed the certs are useless untill it's resubbed)

If anyone can help with telnet or other means to get5101 certs into a 5100 I would be very thankful. I am trying to get a 5100 running and I only have certs/mac from a 5101u and sbg900 to work with at the moment. I have a real JTAG and I have 5100mod loaded if it matters.

RE: sb5100mod certificates problem
sb5101 certs will not work with sb5100 modems. You need another sb5100 certs or a dcm315.
You can try sbg900 cert to sb5100. Use sbtools to inject the certs.
