ISP POINT ON SB6121 / SB6141 FOR USBJTAG

Two main things to make this work are; you must power on the modem with it's power supply, and use the ISP point. It doesn't matter what order things are connected or boot up in, just connect and detect.

Just to show how much easier this setup is, here's the finished product. Used an 11 wire ribbon with a shot from the hot glue gun.

Has anyone been successful flashing a SB6121 ? Last night I made a backup of the whole flash and tried to upgrade the firmware to the official SB6121 1.0.6.12 and the modem did not boot after. Then I restored the backup and still won't boot anymore. I checked the backup in a hex editor and it looks OK, same as other SB612x backups that I have.
I am really stumped as to what could have happened.

hello
have some question
is the sb6141 modem have both docsis and eurodocsis tuner ?
the reason why i asking is that in motorola datasheets i found some informations which is telling me - yes it is
but i also found at ebay the chinese guy seell sb6141e-chn version
so for docsis must be a sb6141 for euro sb6141e or that version with E is an error at ebay ?

update:

overtime I have noticed that on these modems if you solder to the ISP point it will cause the modem to crash the OS, freeze it. Better to just use XKM-S E-Z-Hooks -> http://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/en/...-ND/528233

hook on when needed and use a gold spring pick for the ISP point connection

Once the modem starts acting like this there no turning back, De-soldering the wires won't make a diff, I think is makes one of the chips/resistor weak or something.

Hey mods can you sticky this thread please?
