(07-01-2010, 10:57 PM)laythy Wrote: hi there
im new to all this so i might not know much but i kinda know a bit about what im doing

a friend of mine gave me his modem that worked fine at his house but its not working at mine

i tried another one that worked at his house too but still not working on mine

we live in the same area but might not be the same range so this might be the problem

we both have comcast and using DNS 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220

i am using a mac but i can get access to a pc if i need to

the modem is flashed with Haxorware Version 1.1 Revision 38

checked boxes in setting are
Disable Firmware Upgrades
Force Network Access
DHCP Server

Frequency settings
597000000
549000000
339000000
chan 4

using d11_m_sb5101_showcase_c05.cm file
BPI+DOCSIS1.1 tried to bypass still didnt work

here is a log file

try this, i had the same problem:
try a diff mac, put bpi + bypass, change the last 5 numbers of the serial to w/e.
on frequence just have the 1st one and the rest put on 0. check on: disable firmware, force network. and bypass ftp... and by the way the errors on the log mean that the signal is very weak.. try connecting your modem straight from the drop and i bet it would be operational Smile i had the same problem..

i have cable tv at my house but maybe there is a filter i will check into that as the box is behind my house.

about changing the mac. not sure which one of the 3 should i change im guessing the 1st one as the 2nd is the ethernet and 3rd is the usb am i right?

and what should i change them to? just anything?

i have got my hand on a laptop now so i can run windows programs on it but still not sure how to use that sniffer

ill try to check for the filter thinggy in the morning see if it might be blocked by it maybe

btw im using a 4db splitter right from where the cable comes in one go to the modem the other go to my tv sets

do u guys think it might been blocked by comcast? i mean they probably already know ppl like us are doing this and trying to do somthign to prevent it maybe they got to block that somehow in my area?

thanx everyone for the replies i been bust with school lately and havent got the chance to check back

hi, change your mac address and / or change the frequencies, but more likely your mac address does not work in the area where you connect your cable modem.
