well i called comcast and asked if they can send me a DPC2100R2 since i broke the other one and they did....now my question is how do i open this modem? it has no screws on it.thanx in advance

thay are under the rubber feet, then you open it like a book from the back

ok thank you i found the screws...now please explain exacly how to extrac the cert or nonvol.cuz the link you gave me dnt explain completely and i dnt want to brik it..thanx in advance bro

edit: now just found out that when i got to 192.168.100.1 it shows that the modem im paying for with comcast is a dpc2100r2.but when i open it had no 5pin holes like the 5101 i have.it had 4 holes but they are filled in so cant connect my blackcat usb jtag...any other way in doing this beside opening it? the box says scientific atlanta and on the coner has (2100) lable

4 choices for you to pick from (in order of danger, i think)

1. yep the filled in holes are the jtag port and do require soldering
2. you should also see the white max232 port if you have a max cable you could access the bootloader and run haxor from ram and download the nonvol this way
3. use the 2100 admin webpage to flash the signed ambit shelled firmware then use the shell to flash haxor (no cable needed)
4. use the 1click haxor installer (no cable needed)

3&4 carry the same danger more or less and both end up as haxor flashed modems which you have to flash back to stock so that it can be used as a provisioned modem
