Hey guys, I tried using IP full to dump the certs from my cisco 2100R2 modem, but it gives me an error message during the 1st step saying in spanish that I need to disconnect the coaxial cable to activate factory mode. The coax is disconnected and yet this message comes up. Does this mean the only way to dump the certs is by opening up the modem? If so how can this process be done in the simplest way. Thank you very much

was doing some testing with my dpc2100r2 the other day and can't figure out why this is happening but maybe someone has idea.

I know for a fact this modem can handle a 15/2 connection, it has been running at that speed for the past 3 years. I recently was testing a faster connection, 30/5 to be exact, and it works great except after a couple hours the modem stops transmitting and I can't connect to it from the web gui. power cycle modem helps bring it back online, I check the logs but nothing seems abnormal that would have caused this. I don't think it would be a proximity but rather a bandwidth issue because if I slow down the upstream speed in uTorrent it will stay online longer.

any thoughts?

I'm going to leave it online but with no data traffic and see how many hours/days it will last.

They just finished new Fiber install this summer... Wondering what is possible.

Anyhooo, Would someone confirm the following for me.
1. To get the certs from my subbed AMBIT I will need to open modem and connect with my Blackcat USB.
2. On subbed modem do I need to be in SPI or JTAG mode?
3. What method would be receomended to obtain Certs. Full Dump?
4. I have Forceware on my 6120 and cann connect. SHould I use the GUI to upload certs and set the mac?
5. Can I mod the config to uncap and test max thouroughput?

I scanned for hours this weekend and these five questions are onces that I could not confirm.
Thanks a bunch in advanced.

I have a SB5101 with haxoware 11rev39 showing serial number and mac addy as stated on factory sticker on modem.

I was able to do a firmware upgrade using haxoware .
Using SB5101-2.4.1.6-scm02-nosh it took, and the address page shows my
original serial number HFC MAC addy and USB mac addy . It looks like a real old firmware version.

I placed modem on cable connection.(this connection works as My subbed unit works and shows good levels ) waited about 2 hrs and modem is still ranging. I thought it would at least upgrade firmware. But no ! notihng nada.

What would prevent my modem from getting a firmware push and showing activation page ? I have my haxoware backup that works. But my original backup bricks the modem . any advice welcomed thanx

Ive been reading around this forum trying to find an answer to my question and haven't really found one yet.

Basically, got home one day and my Internet was down. I have the RCA 425 modem and realized it had haxorware loaded. I personally didn't do any of the hacking as a friend of a friend did this whole Internet installation.

Has TWC shut the Internet down? And is there anything I can do on my part to get it to work again?

Thanks a lot guys.
Doing research over a phone blows... -____-

Btw, on my modem the Internet and PC link stay lit while the cable link and message light just blink.

Hi,
So i live in a back house on a 2 on a lot. The front house received Comcast cable, but since "upgrading" to higher speeds my wireless connection is almost non-existent -though the signal is stronger the speed is much slower.

At my old house my buddy is a network admin and had a Surfboard modem modded which allowed us to get free cable internet. Since i pay my share of the cost of the modem in the front house I wanted to see if I could install a similar Surfboard modem in my back house. I found this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Motorola-SURFboa...1238wt_922 . I'm not sure if this suffice to just plug in and surf the net. What else would be needed? Would I have to call my ISP and tell them I've added a new modem?

Thanks for any help!
