Help connecting to BlackCat
#1
Hey guys! I was attempting to flash my modem through my new pc using blackcat, but the program was unable to identify my modem. My modem is the sb5100. What my real question is: Can you use PCI cards with blackcat? If not, why? I just bought the SD-LP-MCS1P SYBA low-profile LPT PCI card. Will this card work? Thanks.

Really Instead Of Buying A FlashcatUSB You Buy A Shitty Parallel Port To PCI.

I bought the FLASHCATUSB befor and it broke. I dont even know how it broke. Thats why I switched to what I found a cheap alternative. So, do you know if PCI card work? Oh and I hope clone detection does not reach california lol.

Really? That sucks. I made sure the card had the ability to be remapped to legacy I/O addresses. Does that make a difference? Here are the card specs:
Quote:PCI lower profile single port parallel card
Easy Plug & installation automatically selects IRQ and I/O address
Supports PCI IRQ sharing-saves valuable resources for other expansion card
Support 32-bit PCI Bus, PCI Specification 2.1
Support Re-mapping to Legacy Address
Supports more than one card into system
Parallel Port:
Build-in SPP, PS2, EPP, ECP compatible IEEE 1284 printer port
Fast data rates up to 1.5Mbytes/sec
Build-in 16 Byte FIFO
(some) Supported Parallel Devices:
Bank Passbook Printer, CF/SM/MMC/SD/PCMCIA reader, CD-R/RWS, EPROM Programmer, Intelligent UPS, Laplink, LS120 Drive, Plotter, Receipt Printer, Scanner etc

The link to the site of my card is this one

Also, do you happen to know what addresses blackcat searches for the lpt port? Thanks.
Oh and thanks for the PM.

well lucky you i'm 80% sure it will work, after a quick bit of googlefu (searching the chip on the board) came up with this saying it works
with a jtag programmer (last review) http://www.dealextreme.com/feedbacks/Bro...x/sku.4638

so seeing as it's the same chip it should work (i guarantee nothing)

When You Pick It Up Here Are The Schematics: http://www.haxorware.com/forums/thread-24.html
I already have a blackcat cable, but thanks for the schematics.
